I'm back!
I got home Monday at noon, after a very fun weekend with the Bartlett family. While there, I helped with the chores, played a couple of games, had a good time jamming with "The Bartlett Boys", and even found time to help them get their old three-wheeler running! I didn't take along a camera though, so I don't have any pictures to share... Andrew Bartlett posted some on his blog though, so check it out Here.
We are now hard at work with the second cutting of alfalfa; Dad and I spent all afternoon in the tractors cutting down hay... Life shure never is dull around here!
Thats all for now,
Andrew B.

I had a look at the photos on your friend, Andrew's blog. Looks like you had a fun/busy time! :)
You mentioned cutting alfalfa - of course we have that here in South Africa, mainly as animal feed. But a while back we found out that alfalfa sprouts are very nutritious and good to eat - especially in salads. Problem is you can hardly find them in the shops here. Someone suggested that we grow our own - the seeds apparently sprout very quickly. I was wondering if your family eat/enjoy the sprouts?
Dear Andrew,
I am so glad that you had a chance to get away from all of the work for a few days! I'm sure that the Bartlett family misses you now but, as some people say, "Better them than me." :)
Welcome home, son!
Mom
Thanks for the comments! I did have a fun time!
~Rachel, Almost all of the alfalfa grown around here is for hay as well. Yes, our family has tried sprouting alfalfa seeds -- I didn't really care for them too much, but Mom and Cora like them... We have also tried other sprouts too, like mung beens, and a couple others that I don't remember... ;-) Mom always did that! I am sure you can find instructions on how to sprout your own by searching the internet... It's amazing how much "Mr. Google" will tell you!
