More snow!

It's beginning to look like Winter around here! I know it's actually still fall, but when there is 6+ inches of snow on the ground, it sure feels like Winter! It reminds me of the saying:
"There are four seasons in North Dakota; Almost Winter; Winter; Still Winter; and Road Construction!"
We were up in Bismarck again yesterday, moving Mom's office from one room to another larger one in the same building. We were also hoping to be able to get our truck back from the shop, where it has been for the past three weeks! It went in with a transmission problem, and after we got it back the first time there were several other problems with it, so it went right back... They thought they had it working finally, but after they took it out and drove it a little, they found more problems... ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! The whole situation has been frustrating, to put it mildly...
It looks like it is going to be a nice day out today, maybe we will be able to have some fun outside! The sun is shining, there is a light breeze, and the temperature is 16°! Just right for snowmobiling... :-)
That's all for now,
Andrew B.

Hey, Andrew! Thanks for the comment on my site! I've been meaning to get on here and introduce myself so I wasn't just some mysteriously random person who suddenly subscribed to your posts. :-)

I think it's really neat that you live on an organic farm (we've been trying to eat primarily organic food for the past few years) and I love your list of favorite movies (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is one of my favorites!), but I guess I perked up the most when I saw that you like "Come What May" and other Independent Christian films that have been made recently.

This summer, I made the big plunge into the world of film and I worked with Advent Film Group on their two most recently projects. I helped with the pickups for "Hero" for a week in July, then helped with "Alone Yet Not Alone" for three weeks in September. It was a lot of hard work, but it was a great experience!

I'm also a big fan of "The Widow's Might" and I can't wait to see "Ace Wonder"! I attended the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival and Academy this October and got to meet some of the HueMoore team. They are such a great group of people!

Cora mentioned that you enjoy videography! I always like talking to people who are interested in film. :-) Are you hoping to get more involved in that field?

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble getting your truck fixed! I hope they finish with it soon. And I honestly can't imagine it being 16 degrees outside during the day. I live on the east coast, and it gets that cold here sometimes, but it's not the norm. It didn't get out of the 30's today, and I hated having to take our pups outside. I don't handle the cold very well. :-)

Oh, and it's really neat that you play the banjo! I've always loved that instrument. My brother Daniel (aged 19) and I both play the piano and we also like to sing together. My other brother Stephen (aged 13) just started taking guitar lessons and he loves it!

Well, it's nice to "meet" you, Andrew, and I hope that you have a wonderful week! :-)

God bless,
Stacey

P.S. Stephen Kendrick was one of the speakers at the Film Academy, and he showed us several clips from their newest film, "Courageous." It's going to be AMAZING!!! I can't wait to see it! It's going to be hard waiting until Sept. 30th of next year (I think that's when they said the release date was).

Stacey,
Thanks for the nice long comment! I think you have taken the prize for longest comment on my blog... :-)
I always enjoy "meeting" other people interested in videography too! Especially Christian young people with a longing to share the love of God through the silver screen... So far my only involvement with "Film" has been recording events for myself and friends. Unfortunatly there aren't too many opertunities for film makers here in ND, and living on a farm keeps me busy almost all of the time, so it's hard to get away... I wish I could have gone to the SAICFF this year, but it didn't work out... You should check out my friend Hannah's blog (Glory and Grace, on my sidebar), as they went this year! You might even have bumped into them... :-)
In Him,
Andrew B.
