Early Birthday gifts.

Hi all! I am back once again, thought it was about time I let everybody know what is going on around here. :-)

It is already the first of November, and my brother's and my birthdays are fast approaching! Where does time fly to?
This year, for our birthdays, Dad decided he wanted to get us started hunting phesants. But, seeing as we didn't have any shotguns, or any experience, he took us up to Bismarck last Wed. and we all went to Scheels. We came home with 2 new shotguns, 2 cases of shells, and a case of clay targets! :-)  Dad, Jacob and I went out and practiced shooting both Friday afternoon, and yesterday, which was a lot of fun. And we actually hit most of them! :-)

Last night, Cora decided to give Jacob an early birthday present too. What was it? The DVD "The Widow's Might"

This is an AWESOME video! It was produced by a group of homeschoolers, on a very minimal budget, and with very little previous experience. I can not say enough about the CHRISTIAN morals in the story, the PHENOMENAL amount of effort put into the production of this video, the AMAZING job that these kids did in their acting, and the VIDEOGRAPHY\3D EFFECTS were great! I can not say enough about this video! If it were made in Hollywood, I don't think the video could have been put together better, and I KNOW the morals wouldn't have been there!
If you are looking for a good, Christian, family friendly video, THIS IS IT! I would even recommend it above the popular "Facing the Giants", or "Fireproof", or even "Come What May."
There is a reason it took the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival's  Audience Choice award, AND the Best of Festival award, (With the $101,000 prize!)
Overall, I would reccomend this video to ANYBODY!

I guess you can probably tell that I enjoyed watching it last night, right? :-)

Today, we are planning on moving our stock cows home from the summer pasture, so we will probably have pictures of that on our blogs soon...

 Have a good day!

Hi Andrew! I like your gun! How long is the barrel on it?

Hi! Did Andrew leave that comment, or did Jonathan forget to log in as himself? :-) Not sure...

I like my new gun too! It is a Remington 870 Express, 28" barrel. We have been having fun shooting 'skeet', improving our aim... I will probably post some pictures soon...

That was Andrew asking! But I was interested in the answer anyway! Glad you both got the shotguns.

I agree with you on The Widow's Might. My family and I have watched it probably 10+ times in the past 6 months, and we now own the rest of the "Siblings" series. :-)

John Moore has been trying to build The Widow's Might's presence at a site called IMDb--I know he'd appreciate it if you'd drop by and leave a rating, or better yet, write a quick review. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1378378/

This movie is too good to keep quiet about. :-)

Thanks for the comments, Jonathan and Jonathan. ;-) I didn't realize it was two seperate Jonathans until Mom came in and started talking about the comment from the other Jonathan... LOL! It is kind of hard to tell you apart, as it just shows "Jonathan" for both of you. :-)
I will definately check out that link, Jonathan P. How do you like the other HeuMoore films? I haven't seen any of them yet...

Good night!

Andrew B.

Sorry about that, I usually remember to add a signature at the bottom, but forgot that time. :-)

The production quality isn't as good on their previous films, but they're still extremely enjoyable. Especially with Heartstrings, the moral is exceptional (Bubble Trouble and What A Blast still have good moral values, they're just not as prominent). Gator--who stars prominently in the previous films--also never fails to make me laugh. :-)

HeuMoore has actually made Siblings 1 (What A Blast)available free online (http://www.heumoore.com/blast.wmv - 15 min video, so it might take a while to load), and they put Bubble Trouble on the Heartstrings DVD. We bought the Bubble Trouble DVD just for the special features (which include a better quality version of What A Blast). It's all on the HeuMoore Website.

Thanks for the links, Jonathan P. but I had already found them myself. :-) Have you seen "Come What May", by Advent Film Group? The NDHSA (North Dakota Home School Association) hosted George Escobar at their annual convention this spring, so we got to see "Come What May" there, as well as listen to a couple of Mr. Escobar's workshops. That was very interesting, and it was fun to actually meet Mr. Escobar in person!
Got to go,

Andrew B.

Yep, I've seen Come What May--it's a good film, though I was kind of disappointed that the guy didn't have better moral qualifications for marrying such a well grounded girl. :-)

It's neat that you could meet Mr. Escobar! I hear he's got a new video almost done, and I'll look forward to seeing that one sometime, too.

Have you seen Pendragon? I've never seen it, but in the past Burns Family Films seem to be sorely lacking in acting ability. I'd be interested to know if they've improved with practice. :-)
