Busyness, and an upcoming Appleseed!

Dear readers,
It may seem like I have forgotten all about you, but that is not the case.  Truth is I have been so busy with farming, and my mechanic work, that I have just not had time to post here.

I have mostly been busy working on the farm, trying to make as much hay as possible, as with the drought this year, hay is rather scarce... We are now putting up our second cut of Alfalfa, which is also very short...   I have also been working on getting the combines ready for the field, as well as fixing the loader tractor when one of the wheels fell off... (!)

We have also been spending a lot of time setting up a rifle range here at our farm, as we are planning on hosting a couple more Appleseed shoots this year, and needed a good place to do it... You can check out the Appleseed website for more information about the program: www.appleseedinfo.org  Check out the FB page I set up for our event here: http://www.facebook.com/events/213108062148105/?ref=notif&notif_t=plan_user_joined
I will also post links to the event pages on the Appleseed website where you can register, as soon as they get post up there...   You are all invited!

  Got to go,

I'm Back!

Hello again, and welcome back!

Once again, I haven't posted in a long time, and you all are wondering what I am doing that is so important that I can't blog. Right? :-)

Well, I have been busy working on getting all of our hay equipment ready for the field, and we actually started cutting hay on Monday. My brother, Jacob, is learning how to cut hay this year, so I have been teaching him how to run the hay header. He already knew how to run our 9030, but had never run it with the hay header on before... Thankfully, he is a quick learner. :-)

We have also been working on the large square baler we just bought.

It is a 2002 Case IH LBX431. It had several little problems with it, and so we have been trying to get it fixed up so we can use it... Our hay should be dry enough to try it out this afternoon or evening, so hopefully it will work good!
Got to go,
Andrew B
